NJ Housewives, Kelly, TV Views

Kelly is "Stronger" on Oct 23!
I've been M.I.A. lately because I'm rehearsing a ton for my up-coming concert on Oct 30. Read about it here!...  A guilty pleasure TV viewing is any form of the Real Housewives on Bravo.  The recent Jersey Reunion (and frankly all the reunion specials) makes me realize how horrific essentially all these women, on all the incarnations are.  The all really despise each other - and the combination of bitter jealousy and unintelligence shines through on the Reunions.  Case in point: Teresa. Wow!  She now seems like the kind of broad who will run you over in her car then back up to finish the job. She is unapologetic, defensive, pathological liar, vindictive, viscous and completely not-too-bright. She's vile. It's to the point where you don't love to hate her (a la, maybe NeNe or Jill Z) but actually have deep dislike for her - and don't feel sorry for her financial troubles or dog of husband....  It wasn't until "Dreamgirls" that I fully appreciated all that is Beyonce.  Aside from her vocal ability being its strongest in (and since) that film, she's released perfect singles and her business savvy is something that should be taught in school.  Her best song from her current "4" album is "Love On Top." Start your day with it and all will be happy!...  Am I crazy or do movies kinda suck right now?  Maybe not "suck," but I certainly find I have an urgency to "must-see" them in the theatres.  50/50, Real Steel, Footloose...?  They'll be on Pay Per View within 3 short months.  I'll watch them for $5.  Aside from Ides Of March (an "A-"), I can't recommend or be excited about much lately or "coming soon."  Yes, Greg will drag me to Paranormal 3 next week....  Kelly Clarkson's leaking official tunes from her 10/23 album, Stronger. Here's "You Love Me." I'm diggin' it... sounds like a harder Katy Perry track.  This will be my album of the fall/winter!...  "The Rosie Show" (OWN) is a lot of fun. I genuinely love her. Too bad no one is watching; now averaging just 260,000 viewers.  That's all.  Maybe it's the timeslot?  7P seemed like a cool idea but it still just feels more daytime.  A daily talkshow - not on ABC, CBS, or NBC is tough to gain viewers.  Good luck Ro!....  "The Walking Dead" is back!  It's Greg's favorite on TV.  It's fun, but I'm not a huge fan like he is but, but of course I watch.  "American Horror Story" is IT! Scary, twisted, suspenseful, odd, great cast - Jessica Lange!  It is creepy.  My question, after episode two is, "Why are you staying in that haunted house!?"  Hopefully they'll answer that soon and and I can suspend belief long enough to understand why they'd say.... Urging you again to get into Showtime's "Homeland." They are re-running the 1st three on Sat (22).... "Once Upon A Time" starts this Sunday on ABC.  The modern fairy-tale thriller might lean a little too "family hour" as it's airing at 8P, but it seems intriguing enough to catch me in the beginning.... Rumors abound that "Pan Am," will be canceled within weeks.  I officially dropped it already....  "The Good Wife" (brilliant) is killing the "Desperate Housewives" (getting goofy).  I watch 'em both, but "DH" would have been better returning for a final 13, not a full season....  I'm missing "Mad Men."  Currently filming, I anticipate it'll start airing in March or so, if not, over the summer. Still too far away....  Flashback: Remember this classic from Robert John?  "Sad Eyes" was #1 for 4 weeks in 1979.... Speaking of Sad Eyes: I use L'Oreal Men's Eye Roller.  I feel using ANYTHING on your eye area is important and this is a cool lil' tool.  They make it for gals too.... So, de-puff and be Just Like Jerry.

Revenge, Happy Endings, LeAnn Rimes

Revenge: Soap-up on ABC
I can't beg of you any stronger than my strongest that you please watch "HAPPY ENDINGS."  It is hysterical.  The ratings drop-off after the brilliant "Modern Family" is an astounding 47%. Yup, almost half of the Fam viewers don't stay tuned.  "Happy" is unhappily in trouble and that is maddening!  The whole Weds night ABC line up is just perfect: the Middle, Subergatory, Fam, Hap, and the new guilty pleasure cheesy soap, "Revenge," and I mean that in a good way.  Madeline Stowe is the biggest bitch I've seen on TV in a while.  She's right up there with Abby Ewing and Amanda Woodward....  If you like "Pan Am," you better start to hype it up, because rumors are that it could run its initial 13 then "Good Christian Bitches," (which I'm dying for) will step in.  Pan's ratings aren't taking off (get it?) so the net could make a forced landing (yup) by years end....  Speaking of ratings, let me explain something about your DVR/Tivo viewing.  If you watch a show you've recorded within 3 days of it's initial airing, it counts towards its official rating. Meaning, if 10 million people watch "Pan Am," on Sunday, but by Wednesday and additional 3 million watch it on their DVR, the network reports it as 13 million viewers. So if you love your shows, watch by day 3!  You should also "like" your faves on Facebook. It helps. And, find them On Demand. Most cable outlets, like TimeWarner, repeat Primetime episodes On Demand (or on-line at the net's site) for free the night following their original airing.  I ignored ABC's "Revenge," as did critics initially.  Then some hype was building, so I caught up with episodes 1 & 2 On Demand.  Simple!...  New films:  The Ides of March, Real Steel with Hugh Jackman and the Footloose re-do all received an "A-" from Entertainment Weekly, my bible.  Yes, Footloose. What?  Well, I'm only into Clooney/Gosling in Ides....  Un-shocking: 2010 Idol winner, Lee Dewyze, has been droppped from a restructuring RCA, which has also now disolved the labels Jive, Arista and J Records, moving acts to RCA - and signaling the coming-end of Clive Davis's reign as he created both Arista & J....  Who the hell does your PR?!  Yes, LeAnn Rimes, I'm asking you?  Controversial tabloid darling of late is no reason to release a new album and sell just 9,000 copies in week one.   For those of you who focus on her being a marriage-crusher, I hope you also then don't support Angelina Jolie's work, because Angie caused the Brad/Jennifer break up.  Yes, LeAnn released a more traditional country set, perhaps a misstep as she is more so country/pop, but perhaps a better PR campaign then just "coming clean" with Ellen (light fluff) would have been a better move because the album is getting rave reviews.  In my opinion, the Grammy winner is one of the best vocalists on the scene.... Saving Face: I love Clean & Clear products. Their astringents and Morning Burst facial soap are damn good.  That orange astringent with 2% Salicylic Acid will strip your face - in a pore-erasing good way!... So, clear-up, seek Revenge and be Just Like Jerry!

Ladies, Gloria, Homeland, Beekman...

Emmy-bound "Homeland"
Year of the Ladies: With the best films of the year, so far, being Bridesmaids and The Help and with TV finding success with female-driven sitcoms (New Girl, 2 Broke Girls, Up All Night) - and of course, with Adele outselling all, it is the Year of the Ladies, right?  Yet, ladies aren't faring well with their hour long TV vehicles (Charlie's Angels, Playboy Club were DOA and Ringer, Prime Suspect and even Pan Am are waning with Playboy now canceled)....  I've always loved Gloria Estefan - wrongfully & sadly often overlooked and underrated, but she co-wrote her hits (ballads like Anything For You, Here We Are and peppy pop like 1-2-3), so I'm glad she's back with a latin dance album featuring her #1 Club hit "Wepa," with a s**tload of remixes, one with PitBull.  Get it, Glo!... American Horror Story arrives Weds on FX.  Highly anticipated, the spooky, odd show has critics very intrigued in just what kind of audience it'll find, as the premise has been somewhat of a secret.  I cannot wait!...  My vote for the best of the new season so far: Homeland on Showtime! You MUST check it out!  Suspenseful and smart, the CIA/current-war-time thriller is espionage and whodunnit at its best.  I heart Claire Danes - and while I don't anticipate Mandy Patinkin to bust out in tune, I can dream.... I haven't enjoyed the first 2 weeks of the X-Factor, due to 2 hours 2x a week of boring auditions.  But unlike Idol, X is moving faster to their Hollywood Week, known as Boot Camp on X this week, so I'll re-try it and know once they are officially "live," I'll be into it.... Smell this!  I love me a candle and yes those $50 ones are worth it but for us grocery store wick-burning individuals, I go with Glade Clean Linen scent only for 3 bucks.  And yes, I wish they made it in Gain scent....  I admire the Beekman Boys: two gays who moved to a farm in Upstate NY and have since had a 2-year docu series, a lifestyle brand and now, a new book.  Bravo boys! Giving gays a good name....  Flashback: As you all know I love me some R&B.  And the R&B of the 80's was IT!  George Benson turned out Give Me The Night, Lady Love Me (One More Time), Never Give Up On A Good Thing, On Broadway, Love Ballad and this infectious lil' ditty that'll stick with you for weeks, Turn Your Love Around.  And he's got 10 Grammy's.... So jam-on with George and be Just Like Jerry!
